Park Board Welcomes Pierson Athletes Back to Mashashimuet Park
The Park & Recreation Association of Sag Harbor is happy to announce that an agreement has been reached with Sag Harbor School District to have Pierson athletes return to Mashashimuet Park for the 2021-2022 school year.
As mentioned in an earlier announcement by the Pierson Administration, the Park Board has also agreed to continue discussion on a draft term sheet that may result in a long term lease and guarantee Pierson athletes continue playing at the Park for many years to come.
While the past few months have been difficult on the community and on parents who were left unsure about the upcoming fall sports schedule, we are pleased that the school district agreed to accept the lease for 2021-2022 and bring Pierson athletes back to their natural home at Mashashimuet Park.
There is still work to be done by both parties to agree on a long term lease and the Park Board continues to remain committed to doing what is best for the children of Sag Harbor and honor Mrs. Sage’s legacy when she gifted the park to us over a century ago.
Again, to all of the Pierson athletes and families, welcome back to Mashashimuet Park!
Sincerely,
Park & Recreation Association of Sag Harbor
